Books and Education
Books and the pursuit of knowledge are one of the primary ways we can directly improve our lives and the lives of those around us.
Reading can seem like a selfish endeavor—especially when taken to the extent it is in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, however, it can become a tool that allows us to look more deeply into the problems in our lives. This gives us the power to see below the surface to the root of our suffering.
Not to mention they're an absolute blast.
My all-time favorite books that have influenced me most.
The Alchemist - Paulo Coelho
Invisible Man - Ralph Ellison
The Heart of the Buddha's Teaching - Thich Nhat Hanh
Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom
Cry, The Beloved Country - Alan Paton
Frankenstein - Mary Shelly
That help me understand the world
Self-Discovery and Growth
To me, these books feel like a dialogue with the soul to communicate the things you feel—and to challenge your notions of the world we live in.
Discipline and Self-Improvement
Entertaining and Fun
These are some of my top books to pop on audio, to sit down and read and relax, or to reread for the fifth time. This is a hard list for me because I’ve enjoyed so so so many different books. Here they are in no particular order. While most of these contain an element of morality and definitely lessons to be learned—I prize them above others for their aesthetic and crafstmanship.
